Hello, I have just bought a new PC that is quite awesome:Cpu: Amd FX-8350 8x4GhzGpu: Palit Geforce Gtx 970Mainboard: ASRock 970 Extreme3 R2.0SSD: 250 gb Sata III Samsung 840 EvoPsu: 650 Watt corsair Vs650 80+OS: Windows 8.1Case: AeroCool XPredator x1 evil black editionRAM: 8 Gb ddr3Monitor: AOC g2460pqu (FullHD; 144Hz)Monitor connection: DisplayPortAll games I have work on max graphics and have at least 70 FPS including Dead Island. On max graphics Dead Island has about 100 FPS. When standing and turning around there is no sign of lag but if I move forward it seems like it is lagging, but the counter stay at his normal 100 FPS. Could this problem come from Dead Island itself or is my Hardware to weak; or is there even another reason? Dead Island ran pretty well even on my GTS 250. It is however a game that can have a bit of lag and stutter even if just dipping below 60 average FPS a bit.If you're using VSync, try forcing it externally via Direct3D Overrider.

Often times such problems are related more to a lack of smoothness in the frame buffering vs the frame rate itself.Make sure as well you have your graphics drivers and Dx updated, but it could be partly due to that game not working quite a s well with W8 as some. After checking some more, it appears there was a patch that caused this problem that lowered the game's Process Priority. Typically any game will run at Normal priority.Usually you have to minimize the game and use Task Manager to change the priority via the Process tab and right clicking the game's Process.Someone on the Steam forum made a Process Mod so you don't have to do this after every launch. It works for both XP and W7. I don't know if it works for W8 though. Also this.this. Dead Island ran pretty well even on my GTS 250.
